WHAT'S NEEDED?

With your help the Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation will provide the comforts of home to the elderly residents living in the long-term care homes we support. At the end stages of life, when a person requires residential care, finding some private time can be difficult. Most long-term care residents are housed in rooms with 4 beds and, while the companionship of roommates is most often a positive social aspect, a little time alone or with family and friends enjoying simple pleasures is also very important.

Through the fundraising efforts of our Comfort Care Campaign, we are renovating, adding and improving rooms within the Aberdeen, Glengarry, Mt. Tolmie and Priory long-term care homes. Our goal is to provide the residents the dignity of home with comfortable, functional and well designed baths, gardens, visiting and palliative care rooms. In addition to these rooms, our wish list also contains much-needed equipment and program support to enhance care and quality of life. Items such as specialty medical and therapeutic equipment, music therapy and entertainment are always in need of funding support. Our elderly residents deserve the comforts of home.
